Banana Bread
Anonymous
So we rubbed our feet
Mashed into fuzzy socks
On the carpet
for hours
Trying to shock each other
But the sparks never came.
And with all the time we spent waiting for them
We let the banana bread burn in the oven.
And all the while you were talking to me
But all I could think was
These days it seems harder and harder to find
The person whose laundry you wouldn’t mind folding.
